Google has announced a new feature called Search Console Recommendations which provides suggestions for improving your site’s optimization and performance in the search results.
The suggestions will highlight opportunities for your site based on Google systems data such as indexing, crawling and serving.
Here’s what it looks like:
The feature will be shown on the Search Console overview page. It is still experimental and will roll out slowly over the coming months. Not all sites will have recommendations at this stage, and Google says even after full rollout they will only be shown when there is something to be suggested for your site.
Google says such data was already available on Search Console, but this feature is designed to make it more accessible through providing direct recommendations. The suggestions are determined on a regular basis and may expire or change over time.
The feature may prove helpful in providing direct suggestions to improve your site’s performance in search, and highlighting specific areas where improvements can be made.
The recommendations are not mandatory, so you should consider them in line with your overall SEO efforts and strategy.
