Apple has announced the launch of Apple Business Connect, a free tool which allows business owners to manage the way their information appears in listings across all Apple apps including Maps, Messages, Wallet, Siri and more.

The new portal is similar to Google’s Business Profile. It’s a significant update which brings Apple’s service more in line with Google’s offering. It allows owners to customize business listings directly and gives access to more detailed features to do so.
After verification, businesses can claim their place card and then directly manage their information. Users can add photos, logos, and update basic information such as location, opening hours and contacts.
Showcases and Actions
Businesses will be able to highlight time-limited offers such as special deals, or seasonal menus through a new Showcases feature. Showcases can include quick actions, such as ordering food, making a reservation or buying tickets. Owners will be able to customize actions suitable for their business.

API
Apple also supports a new Business Connect API for businesses with multiple locations, which allows them to deliver “accurate, up-to-date information to Maps at scale through listing management agencies such as Reputation, Rio SEO, SOCi, Uberall, and Yext”.
Get Started
Apple’s Business Connect caters for large and small businesses. While Google’s service is better established, Apple’s huge user base means it makes sense to keep your business information updated on both services.
